Green Beans with Garlic and Almond

Ingredients

  • lbs fresh green beans
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • tsp kosher salt
  • cup raw whole almonds
  • cup cold water

Instructions

  • Wash and trim the green beans and add to a resealable plastic bag along with the olive oil, minced garlic and salt.
  • Finely, but haphazardly chop the raw almonds with a knife. Add to the bag of beans.
  • Seal the bag and massage the beans, mixing all the ingredients together. Store in the refrigerator to marinate for at least one hour or as long as overnight.
  • When ready to cook, heat a skillet to high heat. Add the contents from the bag to the hot pan and stir the beans continuously until nice and charred.
  • Add ⅓ cup of cold water to the pan, immediately cover the pan, and steam the beans until all of the water has evaporated. Serve the beans immediately. Enjoy!
