Restaurant Style Salsa

Did you know that you can make delicious salsa from a few tins of stewed tomatoes?  You can, and this recipe will prove it. My Restaurant Salsa recipe is so easy to make. All you need is a food processor and five minutes and you can have delicious, restaurant quality salsa on your table in no time.

Drain two, 14.5 ounce cans of stewed whole or diced tomatoes and add to a food processor along with a 4 ounce can of diced, roasted green chilies, the juice of half of a lime, ⅔ of a cup of fresh cilantro, one cup of chopped onion, one teaspoon of cumin and one teaspoon of kosher salt.  Pulse the contents until the right consistency is achieved; about 15 pulses.  Taste the salsa and adjust the seasoning to your liking.  

This recipe makes 4 cups of salsa.  Enjoy with your favorite tortillas chips or over top your favorite tacos, burritos or tamales.  This salsa will keep well for up to five days in the refrigerator.

  • 1, 4 oz can of diced, roasted green chilies

  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp kosher salt, plus more to taste

Instructions

  • Drain tomatoes and add to a food processor along with the remaining ingredients.
  • Pulse the food processor until the desired consistency is reached; about 15 pulses.
  • This recipe makes 4 cups of salsa and will keep in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
