Craving a freshly baked homemade pizza, but have no time to cook? Well, look no further than my Quick & Easy Pizza! This pizza does not disappoint, and like the name suggests, it’s both quick and easy to make. Instead of a yeasted dough that takes time to both knead and rise, this quick pizza dough uses baking powder as the leavener, so no rise time is needed. That’s right! Simply stir a few ingredients together to create the dough, roll it out, top it and bake it. It’s that simple. This pizza can be prepared, baked and on the table in 20 minutes flat. I’m not sure that even a frozen pizza could do that!
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! To start, place a pizza stone or pizza steel in the oven and preheat to 450 deg F. If you do not have a pizza stone or steel, preheat a rimless baking sheet instead. Next, assemble the toppings that you will be using for your pizza and wash, chop or shred the ingredients as necessary. In the photos below, you’ll see that I keep my toppings simple with red sauce, fresh mozzarella, pepperoni and fresh basil, but you do you. Set ingredients aside once prepped.
In a large bowl, add 3½ cups of all-purpose flour, one tablespoon of baking powder, 1½ teaspoons of salt and one teaspoon of sugar. Stir to combine. In a separate bowl, mix together 1½ cups of whole milk and 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix with a wooden spoon. Using your hands, knead the dough until smooth, about 3-4 minutes.
Divide the dough into two equal parts and roll one half of the dough out onto a piece of parchment paper that has been dusted with flour. Roll the dough out into a 12-inch round, then slide the parchment paper onto a wooden peel or cutting board. Top the pizza as desired, then carefully slide the pizza, along with the parchment paper, into the oven and onto the pizza stone/steel or baking sheet. Bake the pizza for two minutes, then carefully slide the parchment paper out from underneath the pizza and continue to bake the pizza until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly, about 10-12 additional minutes. While the first pizza bakes, roll out and top the second pizza using the same parchment paper-method as described above.
Allow the pizzas to cool for 5 minutes before slicing and serving. This recipe makes 2, 12-inch pizzas. Enjoy!
