Vegan Black-Eyed Pea Pâté

Vegan Black-Eyed Pea Pâté

My Vegan Black-Eyed Pea Pâté is seasoned with warm spices including clove, cinnamon and nutmeg, and a few splashes of Marsala wine, which give the pâté an aromatic and nutty flavor.  This pâté is silky smooth and creamy and spreads beautifully over crackers.  It pairs perfectly with a glass of fine Scotch whiskey, served neat of course.  What a great way to unwind after a busy work week.  Cheers to the good life.

This pâté comes together really quickly.  In a food processor, add one can of drained black-eyed peas, one clove of garlic, 1 tablespoon of grated onion, one tablespoon of chopped flat-leaf parsley, ¾ teaspoon of salt, ⅛ teaspoon of clove, ¼ teaspoon of cinnamon, ¼ teaspoon of nutmeg, ½ cup of raw pecans and 2 tablespoons of Marsala wine.  Process the ingredients until smooth, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed.  Serve with your favorite cracker and enjoy!
